When it comes to sportfishing the Baja has it all! Variety, size, numbers, year-round access, generally very calm seas with little or no swell, short morning runs, clear blue skies, generous catch limits, friendly and knowlegable guides…it truly does not get any better than this. We fish 2 general areas that although seperated by only a few nautical miles, each area is very different from the other, at times one area “turns on” while the other slows down, but very rarely do both refuse to give up fish.
La Paz:
Our boat is moored at Marina Costa Baja and is a short drive 5 minute drive from our resort in El Centro. Best suited for 2 or 3 anglers, we use our local Captains and their boats as required for extra guests, usually fishing side by side. Specific areas include El Bajo seamount, Punta Norte Northernmost tip of Isla Cerralvo, and the waters surrounding Isla Espirito Santo (where permitted). 23-24 foot covered super-pangas are the norm for us in this area.
Included in the La Paz area fishing day: return transport to Marina, fuel, gear, ice, lunch and soft drinks, live bait and licenses are extra. 7AM-2PM $340 USD/ Per Day (Multiple days/ extra boats discounted)
Las Arenas/Bahia De Los Muertos:
This highly productive area is a 40 minute drive south near the town of El Sargento/La Ventana. In this area fishing is done from 20 foot open pangas with forward live bait wells. One of our local, experienced Captains provided for each boat. Specific areas include: Punta Perrico, South tip of Isla Cerralvo, Roca Montana, and the “roosterfish capital of the world” Punta Las Arenas.
Included in the Las Arenas fishing day: return transport to fleet location, fuel, gear, ice lunch and soft drinks, live bait and licenses extra. We depart from La Paz 1 hour before sun-up (5-6AM) return by 2-3 PM $300 USD per day (Multiple days/ extra boats discounted)
