Late season Yellowtail mixed in with large Roosterfish Shallow Bays

Jay Arana of Oregon wanted a roosterfish on the fly, his wish was fulfilled with 5 nice roosters 15/20 lbs all in the first hour on the water! Fly-Olive Sea Habit. The fish were exploding on chummed live sardines. At one point there were 20-30 fish circling the boat! We missed some larger fish 30 lb. class.

This is one tough customer ! These mullet snapper will test your skill, and are very difficult to land. Jay Arana April 23/12

Jay’s wife Amy was surprised at the strength of these fish, but did an expert job of landing them as well ! April 23/12

Pound for pound these mullet snapper are the toughest fish in Southern Baja, they take you straight down into the rocks and snap leader after leader, landing 1 out of 4 hook-ups is about average. April 25/12
